TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The promoter of this competition is The Daily Maverick (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter” or “Daily Maverick”).
2. For purposes hereof, “Affiliate” means the Promoter’s partners, co-promoters and sponsors of this competition, Daily Maverick’s subsidiaries, and their subsidiaries and respective holding companies, the subsidiaries of their holding companies, and their directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives.
3. Entering the Competition constitutes binding acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which will be solely interpreted by Daily Maverick.
4. Participation in the Competition and acceptance and/or use of a prize, or any aspect thereof, is at the Entrants own risk.
5. The Competition has six (6) rounds, with each round running for one full calendar month. Each round commences at 00:01 on the first day of each month and closes at 23:59 on the last calendar day of each month. The first round will commence at 00:01 on 1 May 2022. The sixth and final round will close at 23:59 on 31 October 2022.
6. Daily Maverick may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time during the Competition, by posting such amendments on https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/uber-eats-voucher-competition-tc/
7. Daily Maverick reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend or cancel the Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice, at any time, for any reason which is deemed necessary.  In the event of such variation, postponement, suspension or cancellation, all Entrants agree to waive any rights, interests and expectations that they may have in respect of this Competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse of any kind against the Promoters and Affiliates.
8. The Competition is open to all persons 18 (eighteen) years or older and who live in South Africa (being a resident or citizen) except the employees of Daily Maverick and Competition Affiliates and their immediate family members.
9. Entrance into the competition is automatic, upon an individual meeting the following qualifying criteria: 
   1. Be a member of Maverick Insider, contributing a minimum of R200 per month; 
   2. Utilise their Maverick Insider issued Uber Eats Voucher within the applicable calendar month
10. The prize includes a monthly giveaway of one (1) R10,000 Uber Eats credits per month. In total, six (6) R10,000 Uber Eats credits will be issued over the competition duration. 
11. The Prize excludes all items not mentioned above and may differ from images or items used in marketing material for the Competition.
12. Winners will be chosen via random selection from the pool of eligible Entrants, under the supervision of an independent auditor. 
13. The judges’ decision on any matter concerning the Competition and/or arising out of these Terms and Conditions is final and binding on the Entrant, and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. The winner will be contacted by email after the draw. If there is no response from the winner within 3 days of the initial email, that winner will forfeit the Prize and will have no claim against Daily Maverick or Competition Affiliates. In the event of a forfeiture, as contemplated herein, Daily Maverick shall have the right to select a different entrant on the same conditions.
15. If so requested by Daily Maverick, the winner agrees to supply a valid identification document (SA ID or passport), proof of address and any other validation procedure determined by the Promoters, in order to claim the prize.
16. The prize will be issued within one calendar month of the eligible winner accepting the prize.
17. The Uber Eats credits will be valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.
18. Prizes are not transferable and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for cash. Daily Maverick reserves the right to substitute Prizes, or part thereof, with any other prize of a similar commercial value.  Daily Maverick are not liable for any defects in, or changes to any part of the prize.
19. No prize will be awarded to any person to whom such prize may not be legally awarded including, but not limited to minors under the age of 18 years.
20. Daily Maverick is not liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this campaign that may result in any submission not being successfully completed.
21. Entrants must ensure that any information which they provide is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
22. In order to claim a prize, at the time of the draw, the winner must be an active Maverick Insider (membership paid up to date).
23. Daily Maverick will be entitled to publish the prize winner’s name and photograph in media announcements/ newsletters, provided that the prize winner expressly consents to such.
24. If required by the Minister of Trade and Industry or if the Competition is declared unlawful, the Promoters reserve the right to terminate this Competition immediately and without notice of such termination. In such event, all Entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the Promoter.
25. These Terms and Conditions are severable and are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
26. Any provision of these Terms and Conditions which is held to be invalid or unenforceable shall be ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability without invalidating or rendering unenforceable the remaining provision.
