Dr Jacob Cloete received his PhD from the University of the Western Cape. His dissertation focuses on the complexities of the conflict in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His postdoctoral research is a critique of the postcolonial university in Africa. His research uses dance, San rock art and documentary film to unmask coloniality in the postcolonial university in Africa. Cloete is also the Manager of Zone Learning at the University of the Western Cape which aims to introduce entrepreneurship and innovation in the curriculum.
