Today in 1943 the landing date for D-Day was decided upon by Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. It would eventually be delayed by more than a month due to poor weather.

Fact of the day: In the original Jungle Book (the book), Kaa is actually a friend of Mowgli’s. Instead of being portrayed as a villain, he is actually a friend, saving Mowgli’s life twice.
