Benni McCarthy’s weighty fines

Benni McCarthy's weight issues have cost him a lot this year - in more ways than one. As well as being left out of the Bafana Bafana squad for the World Cup, he has been fined about £80,000 by his UK club, Westham, for failing to lose weight quickly enough, according to Britain's Daily Mail. Still, that's only two weeks' salary for him, so we're not convinced the stick approach will work. Perhaps dangling a couple of carrots in front of him, literally, might do the trick.
