Spain: Bull leaps into stands, injures 40 people

By Andy Rice 20 August 2010

A bull leapt over two security fences, into the grandstand and ran amok at a bullfighting event in Tafalla, Spain on Wednesday. The 500kg animal then trampled on and gored 40 people before handlers brought it under control and later killed it. No deaths are as yet reported, but several people are still in hospital, including a 10 year old boy who got sat on by the enraged bull. The incident occurred at a bullfighting festival where several young people get into the ring and try to dodge away from the charging bull. The beast is not supposed to be killed in this type of bullfight. Read more: The AP and BBC News.
