UAE issues fatwa against vuvuzelas

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the United Arab Emirates has issued a fatwa against vuvuzelas. If an instrument makes a noisy louder than 100 decibels (and vuvuzelas can reach sound levels of at least 127 decibels), it can cause hearing damage, which makes it haram.  Read more: The National
