Honduras still in crisis says deposed president Zelaya
Deposed Honduran president Manuel Zelaya says the election of Porfirio Lobo as the next president over the weekend, has only intensified the small Central American country’s the political crisis. Zelaya insisted the official turnout figures of 60%± were a fraud. As a result of the coup and the resulting election, regional reaction has been divided – several nations opposed it, but the US gave it a cautious thumbs’ up. Peru, Panama, Colombia and Costa Rica have joined the US but Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela have refused to recognize the outcome.
