Telkom unhappy with AT&T, seeks new talks
Telkom is looking to renegotiate its African partnership with AT&T, which has so far brought the South African parastatal little business on the continent. Telkom and AT&T reached an agreement in April 2009 to provide information technology and telecomms services, in a bid to win over foreign companies seeking to expand into Africa, but so far the partnership has not won many contracts. The understanding between the two companies was that AT&T clients would use Telkom's network services in Africa. Even so, Telkom says they're continuing to focus on existing customers, and will not seek new partnerships or licenses. Read more: Reuters Africa.
