Preliminary matric exams postponed in Gauteng

Preliminary matric exams in Gauteng have been postponed indefinitely due to the strike, an official said. The exams were supposed to start in two weeks' time, but the public servants strike doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. The Eastern Cape and Free Sate departments of education have already postponed trial exams, and this new development in Gauteng may force the national department of basic education to postpone exams across the country. The Western Cape is managing just fine though, with most schools saying trial exams will go ahead as scheduled. Read more: SAPA, via News24.
