Oracle sues Google over Android OS

Oracle Corp. filed a lawsuit against Google in a California federal court on Thursday, accusing the internet giant of infringing on its patents. The focus of the suit is Google's Android operating system, which Oracle says infringes patents on its Java software. A spokesperson for Oracle said Google " knowingly, directly and repeatedly infringed Oracle's Java-related intellectual property" in developing Android. Oracle own Java technology after taking over Sun Microsystems for $5.6 billion earlier this year. Read more: Reuters and BBC News.
