More than 700 dead in China mudslides

More than 700 people are dead after massive landslides in China's northwest region. The mudslide that resulted from torrential rain in China's remote Gansu province was powerful enough to knock seven-storey buildings over and bury people in mud, several hundred metres deep in some areas. This marks China's worst flooding incident in over a decade. Rescue workers have been forced to dig through the mud and rubble with their bare hands Some survivors are still being pulled out of the mud, but hopes for finding more people alive are swiftly diminishing.
