Disgraced referees sent home early

Four referees have failed to make the shortlist for officiating in the next stages of the World Cup. The identities of the referees going home early are no surprise, as they've all made appalling decisions in the course of the tournament. The hapless four are Jorge Larrionda (England vs Germany); Roberto Rosetti (Argentina vs Mexico); Stephane Lannoy (Brazil vs Ivory Coast); and Koman Coulibaly (US vs Slovenia). Nineteen referees remain in contention to officiate in the remaining matches. Read more: AFP
