Mistakes pay. Well. Chinese error stamp fetches record price at auction.
A Chinese stamp that was removed from sale the day it was issued because the printers and designers forgot to colour Taiwan red was sold at auction in Hong Kong for $475,000. The stamp shows a worker holding Mao’s famous little red book and a map of China coloured red in the background. However, somebody goofed because Taiwan was not red, despite the official title of the stamp: "The Whole Country is Red". Its original designer, Wang Wei Sheng, clearly lost years of sleep over the miscue. He told the AFP, "For a long time I was really worried that I would be jailed". Read more: BBC
