All of the above may lead to the suspension of your account and eternal damnation. Okay, maybe just suspension, but do you really want to risk eternal damnation?

By registering, you agree that Daily Maverick may send you communications that we think you’ll appreciate. These include editorial newsletters, marketing emails and the occasional notification about new services and products or special offers.

We don’t share your information with anyone else, or use it to track you across the web. That’s just something Silicon Valley overlords and Vladimir Putin are interested in. We’re kinda busy fighting for our democracy. As always, we will abide by our Privacy Policy and applicable law, but if you don’t want to hear from us anywhere, you can opt out of a newsletter as it arrives, or contact us directly at [email protected]

We will also, from time to time, send you service communications. These are necessary to manage your account, and unfortunately you won’t be able to opt out as long as you have an account. Think of it as the car-service notification on your dashboard – you really don’t want to miss those.

You may terminate your account at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will be saddened and hold a vigil for our dearly departed friends. But we will hold your spot for when you want to come back.

Last, we may amend these terms from time to time because, as we know, the only constant in life is change. If we do, we will publish the changes on our site and they will become effective immediately. It is up to you to visit our site regularly to check whether any changes have been made.
