Ice cream ad immaculately conceived

An advert for Federici ice cream is causing controversy in the UK, with at least 40 people complaining to the Advertising Standards Authority. The ad portrays a pregnant nun eating ice cream, with the tag line "immaculately conceived". Some Christians, especially Catholics, find the advert offensive because it mocks the birth of baby Jesus. But in the wake of the latest sex scandals involving clergy, the general populace will probably enjoy having a sly laugh at the Church's expense. Read more: The Guardian
