RIP Phoenix lander

Nasa declared the Phoenix lander deceased, saying it has ended attempts to contact the craft. It had not been expected to survive the harsh Martian winter, which broke at least one of its solar collectors, but with spring arriving at its location there had been some hope of getting it back into action.
