Some rich Germans want higher taxes

Okay, here's something you’ll most likely hear for the first time: a bunch of rich Germans, led by one Dieter Lehmkuhl, has gathered together to demand that Chancellor Angela Merkel's government raise their taxes. They have drafted the petition with 44 signatories so far, in which they call for an added 5% tax on the country's richest layer of the population, estimated to be 2.2million people with net asset values of more than $750,000 each. According to their calculations, that would raise about $150 million, money that is badly needed to address Germany's problems. They also trust the government to provide the meaningful programmes that would properly deal with unemployment, poverty and social inequality.
