Sudan’s opposition continue parliamentary boycott

Sudan's opposition parties say they will continue to boycott parliament until a package of democratic laws is passed, including those guiding consultations on the separation of two disputed states, and reforms to the criminal code, trade unions and the national security services. An earlier boycott was to have ended on 25 October. Sudan is facing a controversial election in 2010 after the Islamic north and black African south ended a 21-year civil war in 2005 with an agreement to share power and wealth, and give the oil-rich south a vote on secession by 2011.Read more: Reuters, Reuters
