France accuses Guinea coup leader of order to shoot

France has ratcheted up the pressure on its former colony Guinea, saying its military leader might have ordered the shooting of protesters that left some 200 dead. The French foreign minister inferred that Captain Moussa Dadis Camara was instrumental in a decision to launch a bloody crackdown on 50,000 demonstrators in the capital, Conakry. He earlier said France could no longer work with the coup leader who took power after long-time dictator Lasana Conte died last year. Camara now wants to run in presidential elections next year, which set off the massive demonstrations in the first place.
