Mugabe stands firm on ZIMBABWE gains

mugabe stands firm

Shortly after the EU sent a high-level delegation to Zimbabwe to tell Robert Mugabe sanctions would be remain in force a while longer, the irrepressible dictator has described himself on CNN as an African hero battling imperialism and attempts by evil foreigners to oust him. He told his interviewer, the equally irrepressible Christiane Amanpour, that sanctions were unjustifiable, and that the policies of his Zanu-PF party didn’t turn the once-rich country into a basket case. In his oft-repeated diatribe he accused former coloniser Britain and the imperialist US of seeking to get rid of him, saying Zimbabwe can now feed itself despite throwing white farmers off their land. Bob also rejected criticism from South African Nobel Peace Prize winner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who accused the “little man" Mugabe of "devilish talk".
