Dubya defends waterboarding in memoir
Former US president George W Bush defended the torture technique called waterboarding in his new memoir, called Decision Points. In the book was released on Tuesday, Bush describes waterboarding as one of a number of "enhanced interrogation techniques", claiming that employing it helped foil plans to attack Heathrow Airport, the Canary Wharf and other targets within the UK. 10 Downing Street rejected Bush's claim, saying that they agreed with US President Barack Obama (who has banned the practice) that it constitutes torture. Waterboarding is an interrogation technique where a cloth covers the victim's face and water is poured over the head, simulating drowning. Read more: Guardian
