Taxi driver arrested for bribing metro cop with R20

A 22-year-old taxi driver was arrested by metro cops in Martindale, Johanneburg, after he tried to get out of a fine for driving on the wrong side of the road, with a R20 bribe. The driver will appear in court later today on charges of bribery and corruption. A spokesperson for the metro police said that this shows just how uncorrupt some cops were, and that motorists who tried to bribe these clean cops would suffer the same fate as the taxi driver. The spokesperson offered no insights as to how motorists should proceed with a corrupt cop. Read more: Sapa, via TimesLive
