US, 25 African nations begin joint military drills

The US has begun joint training exercises in Gabon with personnel from 25 African nations to improve command and control between forces for possible peacekeeping or anti-terrorism missions, a spokesman said Wednesday. Guinea, whose troops killed more than 150 civilians earlier, was not participating.
