UN invites Madagascar coup “leader” to “climate change” talks

The UN has invited Madagascar president, Andry Rajoelina, to its next General Assembly meeting on climate change, despite the 35-year old having come to power in March in a military-backed coup. Now there’s speculation that the UN is softening its stance on the power-grabbing youngster, despite the UN, AU and EU saying that a new transitional government that is supposed to be made up of former leaders was created unilaterally by Rajoelina. Now they have called on Madagascar to form a consensus government ahead of elections in late 2010.Wonder if the UN is confident that the youthful president will get the hint that this is really a meeting on political climate change
