Ella Blumenthal, who ‘never knew whether I would live from one moment to another’, has a profound message for people everywhere today. Now living in Cape Town, aged 102, a book about her life has been released – “I Am Ella”, by author Joanne Jowell. This is her remarkable story.
At elevations of up to 1,690m, there is often snow in winter. These heights are among the coldest places in the Western Cape in winter. But be warned, this climate is one of extremes, with temperatures ranging from -6°C to a sweltering 46°C on the karroid plains in summer.
