Disgusting behavior by the ANC. Stealing taxpayers money (through the bailing out of SOEs, VBS Bank, NHI etc) on the one hand, and trying to raise taxes on the other. A small percentage of taxpayers already support the social grants of millions, and the ANC is trying to take more.... disgusting.

S/Africans already get very little for the taxes they pay. Gov. services are poor to non existent (policing and security, education and schooling, public transport etc etc). Raising VAT puts further pressure on citizens. Tax bracket creep also an issue. Spending needs to be cut to balance the books

How about reducing the size of cabinet, capping salaries and reducing perks? If nothing else, it would be a gesture of good will.

For once the ANC was faced with a barrage of resistance by all concerned party members of the GNU. Its constant lording over all of them has finally blown up in their face, even from the likes of opposition parties. A strong indication of major power loss leading up to the 2026 local elections.
