• Relevant & riveting.

• Knowledge is power. I have a very demanding job… and wish I had time to do justice to everything DM publishes, but the reality is, I just don’t. This day was so jam-packed with brilliant information and opinions.

• It was sincere, informative, edgy and spoke directly to issues and potential solutions for cities and the country.

• Daily Maverick curates an intriguing day of talks that hung together excellently and coherently.

• I always leave The Gathering with a clearer understanding of where I stand in relation to South Africa and its politics.

• It really highlighted how many exceptional South Africans there are out there, working away every day to make this beautiful country a better place for all who call it home.

• Hope. It gave me hope. South Africans are resilient and if we all work together, we can all prosper and flourish.

• I really just loved being there, seeing oft-quoted people in the flesh and hearing what they had to say. Overall, I found The Gathering positive and uplifting.

• It was great to meet all the DM writers and editors, in awe as to how they work in real time to get the news to those who did not attend.

• Insight, straight questions and straight answers. Impressive panel.

• Just totally different, day out the office, powerful and inspirational.

• The emotional honesty and integrity of the Imtiaz session; all preferable over the sculpted, scripted panels where everyone agrees with each other.
