. . . if only ? A billion plus for the Commission, another half for the paper on which to print the reports . . . And then NOTHING ? NO ACCOUNTABILITY, NO PROSECUTION, NO JAIL TIME . . . So what was the point ?
The point is that it puts the corrupt on the back foot politically placing their emphasis on defense rather than attack. While it would be nice if they went to jail the more important immediate term objective is to neutralise them politically so the country can move forward.
And the end result? If it looks like a chicken, eats grain, clucks like a chicken and lays eggs like a chicken then it's probably another species of royal game and therefore protected.
