I am a multisports journalist who enjoys telling people’s stories. From stories of people triumphing against the odds, to those who push their minds and bodies to the limit for our entertainment.
My background
I landed at Daily Maverick right after acquiring my media qualification from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This was in 2019. Initially on board as an intern, I earned my stripes covering a variety of subjects. From general reporting, to covering court cases and even politics. But my passion has always been sports. A year into my journey as a journalist I made it into the top five of the AIPS Sport Media Awards, in the best young African reporter category. I’m also proud to have co-founded the Maverick Sports newsletter, which I curate weekly.
Journalistic ethics
Outstanding journalism is driven by holding onto key journalistic principles such as truth, objectivity and accuracy. Without these, all the work we do is diluted – if not completely discredited.
