What I cover
I’m a political reporter at Daily Maverick covering South African politics, Parliament and foreign affairs. I am particularly interested in global politics, conflict and migration, and South Africa’s position as a middle power in the changing world order. I joined Daily Maverick in December 2020 as an intern, reporting on topics from energy, to elections and extreme weather.
My background
I graduated from Stellenbosch University’s Department of Journalism with a BAHons in Journalism in March 2021. I am a recipient of the regional 2023 Vodacom Journalist of the Year Award for Breaking News (Western Cape), and a co-recipient of the national 2024 Vodacom Journalist of the Year Award for Sustainability Reporting.
