Venitha Pillay is a gender, education and development consultant. She served as an Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria for almost two decades and is a dedicated feminist and gender activist. Her, Academic Mothers (2007), was the first of its kind in South Africa. She continues to research and publish on gender and education and is currently as researcher in the Department of Sociology at the University of Pretoria.
