Sean Phillips

Sean Phillips has an Honours degree in engineering design and appropriate technology from the University of Warwick, as well as an MSc degree in municipal engineering for developing areas and a PhD in civil engineering from Wits University. His MSc and PhD were related to roads engineering. He also has a Master of Management degree in public and development management from Wits University. He has 20 years of senior management experience in government, including five years as a head of the Limpopo Department of Public Works and Roads and five years as Director General of the national Department of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation. His involvement in infrastructure has included working for more than 10 years for the national and provincial public works departments, being a member of the CIDB board, chairing the board of the Limpopo Road Agency and being managing director of the Johannesburg Road Agency. He is currently working as an independent consultant.
