I’m passionate about personal finance and the world of business. My goal is to work towards empowering readers to manage their money better, and help them make more informed choices after they have made sense of what’s happening in the financial world and how it affects them.
My background
I’m old enough to say I’ve been around the block. Publications I have written for include Sowetan Live, Business Live, Moneyweb, City Press, InvestSA and, of course, Daily Maverick. I’ve dabbled in corporate communications with a year at Santam and almost two years at Discovery Invest before returning to journalism, my true love. I have won awards but it’s always a team effort, never just one person.
Journalistic ethics
Journalists have a massive ethical responsibility – to uncover the truth, shine a light on corruption and agitate for change – all for the benefit of society as a whole rather than any single element.
