Lise Korsten

Professor Lise Korsten is Co-Director of the DSTI–NRF Centre of Excellence in Food Security at the University of Pretoria, where she leads work on food safety, regulatory control, plant health and food waste. She has advised Parliament on food safety and helped develop a national framework for a Food Control Authority. A former president of the African Academy of Sciences, she has received major national and international awards, including an honorary doctorate from Ghent University.
