Dereck Joubert

Dereck Joubert is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker, conservationist, and National Geographic Explorer at Large. He and his wife Beverly have made over 30 films for National Geographic on Africa’s wildlife with a strong conservation message as the core. He is the founder and CEO of Great Plains Conservation, which operates luxury, light footprint, wildlife camps in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Kenya with a focus on preserving land on a scale large enough to secure residents and seasonal wildlife populations. Joubert is a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honour conferred by Lions Clubs International for outstanding humanitarian work.
