Agnès Callamard

Dr Agnès Callamard is Secretary-General at Amnesty International. Callamard joined Amnesty International in 1998. Powerful states have sought to discredit Callamard and even threatened her life because of her human rights work. As Secretary General and chief spokesperson of the organisation, Callamard has led Amnesty’s response to the conflict in Gaza and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
