Watch – Joburg: How is it possible for a city to pay so much… and deliver so little?

Right now, as residents deal with load reductions, water outages, and waste collection that’s hit-or-miss at best… Joburg’s top executives are earning some of the highest municipal salaries in the country. It's been refreshing to see so coming out as we lift the floorboards on everything happening in our city. Is all this publicity leading to actual accountability? Has our city become too complacent? How do we put enough pressure to actually evoke change?

Absolutely disgusting. Where I live, the two lane road is now a single lane as drivers have to take turns to avoid the potholes - practically craters now. Water and power is hit and miss and refuse collection optional for Pikitup. And yet the management of each of these entities gauges millions from taxpayers annually for nothing. They should all be in prison.
