Welcome to the West City

ELEVENONB will introduce a new way of living in Cape Town’s city centre. Designed to foster connection and to encourage a walkable, 15-minute city lifestyle. ELEVENONB is located within walking distance of Kloof Street, Bree Street and Long Street, offering sought-after eateries, bars, art galleries, museums and historical monuments. The development’s ground floor spaces will further enhance connectivity within the neighbourhood, allowing for a lived-experience that extends beyond your front door. A beautiful historic lane - Orphan Lane - and a heritage building – previously home to the iconic Madam Zingara – will both be restored to their former glory.

The West City spans approximately 286 000m2, about 7.4% of Cape Town’s CBD, and is surrounded by some of Cape Town’s most recognisable neighbourhoods: Bo-Kaap to the northwest, Tamboerskloof and Gardens to the south / southeast, and the broader City Bowl to the east.

ELEVENONB is located in a neighbourhood open to opportunities, open to possibilities, open to the city, open to you.

Open Art

Last week Thursday evening 6 November 2025, Blok celebrated their first First Thursdays, with the launch of ELEVENONB, and the opening of Art on the Blok 2.0 – Open Art, a freely accessible, open-air gallery in the heart of the West City.

The event transformed the ELEVENONB site, the future home of the mixed-use residential and retail development, into an urban art park celebrating paint, ink, movement, and music. The evening showcased commissioned murals from Palm Black, and featured more than 20 artists, whose work will remain on display through February 2026.

The Open Art initiative builds on Blok’s long-standing commitment to integrating art into the built environment, reimagining how public spaces can foster accessibility and exchange.

“Art on the Blok has always been about connection,” says Jacques van Embden, CEO of Blok. “With Open Art, we’re inviting the public into the process, into the city itself, to experience how creativity can transform urban spaces and make them more open, more human, and more alive.”

You can visit Open Art, at 11 Buiten Street, in the West City, Cape Town (entrance on Orphan Lane). DM
