Johannesburg deserves better - Redi Tlhabi on the city's lost potential and its future
In this episode of The Readiness Report, Redi Tlhabi reflects on Johannesburg, a city rich in promise, the economic heart of southern Africa, yet held back by poor leadership and indifference. 'You can modernise it, clean it up, put in all the cosmetic fixes you want. But without vision, and without people who care, Johannesburg will not thrive,' she laments.
Redi I followed you for years, since early 702 days. You have always spoken with such authenticity & eloquence, what most of us are thinking with such clarity…and with deep insights. I hope others listen to this, because this is indeed the experience of Joburgers. My question is WHY people don’t collectively do enough. Surely a class action or a legal way to withhold rates & tariffs is the way to counter this constant harassment? Either we vote them out or this abuse will continue.

I agree with you Zoe. I do have one thing to say.... Why do these columnists never, NEVER say who they vote for? Or who they vote against?

I wish that Dada would have the guts to play this video at the next CoJ council meeting, but that would never happen.
