Judge Navi Pillay on Gaza, power and the future of international justice

In this episode of The Readiness Report with Redi Tlhabi, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay reflects on a lifetime spent pursuing justice, from defending anti-apartheid activists in South Africa to presiding over landmark international trials. As lead investigator of the recent UN report on Gaza, Judge Pillay discusses why she believes accountability still matters, even in the face of power, politics, and impunity. A conversation on the law and the weight of truth.

"Show me where there's a bias"? Between 2015 to 2025, the UN General Assembly has tabled ZERO resolutions on China [no human rights, 1m Uhygyars in detention camps], Cuba, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Libya - all zero. Myanmar, Iran, North Korea 9 each, Syria has had 10. But Israel - 173. The UNHRC, where you "serve" Navi, every session has one day on Israel, one day on the rest of the world. Think about it and show me where there ISN'T a bias.

Having just perused Brij Maharaj's article on a book launch related to 'indenture' .. I would recommend (not that it will be welcome) it to Rod MacLeod, since my original response will most likely be 'rejected' by DMs 'system' .. not unlike the mainstream media's continuous bleating and excuse about not being 'allowed' into Palestinian territory .. by the 'only democracy' in the middle east nogal !
