Evangelist's walk from Cape Town to Israel, and more from around the world

In a week where the Red Sea became a battleground for remote-controlled boats and hypersonic missiles, Pamplona’s bulls took a leisurely jog while elsewhere, floods and protests reminded us that Mother Nature and human discontent never take a holiday.
Evangelist's walk from Cape Town to Israel, and more from around the world Evangelist Reini Coetzee carries a wooden cross with the South African flag on the N1 on his way to Israel on July 04, 2025 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Coetzee began his walk in March 2025; he has stated that he hopes to carry the wooden cross 10 000 km across Africa and on to Jerusalem "to bring hope, peace, and the love of Christ to Africa through the power of the cross. A model of a small boat with several figures depicting migrants inside can be seen on top of a loyalist bonfire on July 10, 2025 in Moygashel, United Kingdom. Loyalists have constructed a bonfire effigy depicting a boat full of migrants with mannequins wearing lifejackets and placards reading "Stop the boats," and "Veterans before refugees." The effigy is set to be burned atop a pyre of pallets on Thursday night, as part of the annual bonfire events held in Northern Ireland around July 12, marking the 1690 Battle of the Boyne victory of King William III's Protestant forces over Catholics. Moygashel Bonfire Committee has said that the bonfire "topper" should not be seen as "racist, threatening or offensive" and it is "expressing our disgust at the ongoing crisis that is illegal immigration". The topic of illegal migration is high on the agenda during the UK-France summit taking place in Downing Street today, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron in talks over new measures to curb small boat crossings.
