Specialist doctors, neurosurgeons work on preventing, diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spine and nerves. They treat and manage conditions that affect the flow of blood to the brain. They perform operations and are involved in the rehabilitation of patients postoperatively. What high school subjects do you need to qualify? NSC or equivalent Grade 12 qualification with bachelor’s pass. English, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and two others. Percentages are considered.
