Staff Compliment
The School is proud to have a team of highly qualified and motivated academic and administrative staff. Most (85%) of the School’s academic staff have PhDs, while the rest have at least Masters qualifications. Several academic staff are registered with various professional bodies (e.g. RICS, CIOB, and IREM), have teaching qualifications, and are NRF-rated researchers. The School's academic staff comprises individuals from academia, business, and the construction and property fields, which further enhances our academic prowess. A 20-member Industry Advisory Board (IAB) plays an active role in guiding the academic and governance structures in the School.

Facilities
The School facilities include a modern building that provides ample space for teaching and learning, administrative offices, and a Postgraduate (PG) Centre. The School also has an IT lab, a workshop for concrete and building science, a newly built environment precinct development, well-equipped lecture theatres, tutorial rooms, and study facilities. Our facilities are designed to cater to the needs of all students, including those with disabilities.
Other facilities include a well-resourced computer centre with over 200 computer stations. A dedicated full-time IT Technician in the School addresses ICT needs and queries. The school provides teaching and learning resources to students. There is a collaborative online teaching and learning platform— SAKAI/Ulwazi. This platform includes resources and is also for live/remote teaching and learning interactions. Software packages are available to students. State-of-the-art library facilities help staff and students to achieve their academic pursuits.

Alumni
With a global reach, the School has a highly engaged and vibrant community of alumni and friends. The School seeks to connect alumni to the University and each other through a wealth of community networking opportunities, continuing education programmes, professional development resources, volunteer opportunities, CEM-led trips, and much more around the world.
Industry Engagements
Students engage in short- and long-term internships with various companies as students and graduates. Staff are also encouraged to undertake sabbaticals in practice-led companies at given intervals. Senior executives from various companies occasionally visit the School to engage with staff and students on topical issues affecting practice. These companies also sponsor student and alumni gatherings regularly. Staff constantly provide services relating to contractual research consultancies in various organisations linked to their professions. Academic-inclined partnerships with companies are also ongoing, with several post-doc research funded.
Post-Graduate Honours Courses Offered in the School:
BSc (Hons) in Property Studies One-Year Full Time
The BSc (Hons) in Property Studies curriculum and competencies align with local and world-class property studies, thus meeting international accrediting requirements. The course allows graduates to pursue various opportunities in the property industry, including property valuation, facilities management, property development, property finance, market research, and asset management.
Entry Requirements
- BSc Property Studies or equivalent property-related degree at 60% weighted average for final-year courses; or
- BTech or Advanced Diploma or equivalent property-related degree at 65% weighted average for final-year courses.

BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying One-Year Full Time
The BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying course enables graduates to apply quantity surveying techniques to building and civil engineering projects, carry out property development and portfolio administration, and perform applicable professional quantity surveying management roles.

- BSc Quantity Surveying degree with 60%weighted average for final-year courses; or
- BTech or Advanced Diploma or equivalent Quantity Surveying degree with 65% weighted average for final-year courses.

BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management One-Year Full Time
The BSc (Hons) in Construction Management course will result in a professional qualification as a Construction Manager. Construction managers plan, organise, and control all aspects of large and complex construction projects. They have highly developed managerial skills and advanced technical knowledge of construction processes. Graduates will satisfy the criteria for accreditation in several international professional organisations.

- BTech or Advanced Diploma or equivalent Construction Management degree at 65% weighted average for final-year courses.
