The Beautiful Game — Dust flies in Diepkloof quest to be cream of Soweto soccer crop
Young boys participate in the Diepkloof soccer league football practice – with the hope of being selected to represent Soweto when it competes with teams from other major townships across South Africa’s provinces. The coaches of Diepkloof are deployed to identify players from other clubs to avoid biases and ensure that the cream of the crop is selected. Daily Maverick Chief Photographer Felix Dlangamandla spent time capturing the young boys playing ‘the beautiful game’.
