With the world moving more and more to electric propulsion and away from coal-fired power generation, surely there is an argument to use the “SASOL Process” to turn coal to oil, with the obvious proviso that proper scrubbing should be in place to ensure that this does not create high levels of atmospheric pollution (as at present)?
