South Africa confronts a massive debt crisis, and this has to be addressed. But there are government decisions that are troubling, such as the bailing out of SAA, which will lead to the reallocation of resources from departments meeting basic human needs. There must be urgent decisions, but we also need leadership that does not simultaneously appear to negate the cries of the poor and hungry.
