WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING

Jubilant scenes following Mugabe's downfall

Zimbabweans in Harare and South Africa took to the streets last night, celebrating the end of a long-overdue dictator. Robert Mugabe's resignation ultimately ended his inevitable impeachment process, with him  opting finally to see the wood for the trees. Some 57-million users have had their personal data stolen from Uber for more than a year. The ride-sharing app, meanwhile, opted not to tell you this for the duration. Chief executive Dara Kosrowshahi, leading a reputational clean-up campaign, said: "None of this should have happened, and I will not make excuses for it." He promptly fired the two individuals most responsible for the cover-up. Somewhere in Uber's HQ, a fissure leading directly to hell must surely have opened up.

Spurs win Champions League group

Tottenham's star striker Harry Kane has praised his team's "massive" accomplishment of winning Group H in the Champions League. Spurs defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1, claiming the top spot after goals by Kane and Son Heung-min. Real Madrid will now need to become comfortable with second place on the League table.

Majority of US women sexually harassed

Sixty percent of women in the United States have been sexually harassed, a new poll has revealed. Twenty percent of men reported sexual harassment, with most in both groups experiencing it in the workplace. The poll involved 1,415 American voters, showing a relatively small, but important, slice of the depth of sexual harassment in the US.
