Crowds, parties, weddings in eclipse path

A rare total eclipse spanning 14 American states saw sky-gazers revel in the pseudo-twilight. Weddings, roof-top parties, and a horde of US West Coast visitors ushered in the eclipse. Barcelona attackers “nicely integrated”

The Barcelona terrorists responsible for the deaths of 15 included individuals who were considered “nicely integrated” in their hometowns. After a four-day manhunt for Younes Abouyaaqoub, a 22-year-old Moroccan, the van-driving lead attacker was shot and killed by police in northeastern Spain. Thus far a cell of at least 12 individuals has been uncovered, with eight killed by authorities or themselves and four in custody.

Rooney hits 200 goal milestone

Everton veteran forward Wayne Rooney managed to become just the second player to score 200 goals in the Premier League. Rooney netted his landmark goal in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. In Rooney’s characteristic eloquence, he described the achievement as “it was nice.”
