The Cyril Ramaphosa who kowtows to Jacob Zuma is no more. The Deputy President who praises the President – calls him “Action-Man Zuma” – has gone. At least 38 probable mass graves have been discovered by the United Nations. Situated in and around Kasai, Democratic Republic of Congo, the graves raise the total tally to at least 80, and over 3,000 dead. Fighting between security forces and local militia since September is largely to blame.

Cutting-edge cancer therapy to be approved by FDA

An advisory panel has unanimously approved the US Food and Drug Administration's consideration of an innovative new cancer therapy. Using genetic alteration of a patient's own immune system, the new therapy could be a breakthrough treatment for leukaemia. The treatment, named CTL019 in 2014, has seen an astounding 89% success rate in eradicating leukaemia in trial patients.

US launches eSports Overwatch league

Activision Blizzard's major hit shooter Overwatch will now enjoy the status of being a major eSports league. If you think computer games were still for that spotty anorak in high school, think again.
