The State of Capture report is a defining moment in ANC history. The party has responded with the same delay-and-defer tactics it has displayed in the past. Ultimately, it will suffer in the polls. By GREG NICOLSON.

[Trump wins Ohio, looks set for victory](http://email.touchbasepro.com/t/d-l-dttykdd-l-n/)

Despite all predictions indicating otherwise, the American people appeared to be showing Donald Trump the door to the White House. Current predictions show Trump, who secured major states such as Ohio, to win by a significant margin. The NYT is reporting over 300 seats will eventually go to the Orange Menace. Clinton, despite winning the popular vote so far, simply failed to capitalise on every advantage afforded to her during the race. Today, it seems, looks like the USA is making #Brexit look like a spring walk through Saxonwold.

[Shooting shuts down polling stations in LA](http://email.touchbasepro.com/t/d-l-dttykdd-l-p/)

Two polling stations have been shut down in California following a shooting. Two people were killed and three injured when a gunman opened fire in a residential area in Azusa, east of Los Angeles. Thus far the shooting appeared to be the only major incident taking place on election day.

[Markets in freefall ahead of Trump victory fears](http://email.touchbasepro.com/t/d-l-dttykdd-l-x/)

Markets worldwide slumped today as fears of a Trump electoral win grew. Syndey, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo all shed over two percent, while futures on the Dow in Wall Street plunged 2.6 percent. Democrat-minded investors may well be running for the gold buried in the garden at this rate.

[DRC bombing kills one, injures 32](http://email.touchbasepro.com/t/d-l-dttykdd-l-m/)

A massive blast in Goma, eastern DRC, has killed a seven-year-old girl and injured 32 others. Many of the wounded were MONUSCO personnel, for whom Goma is a central town for eastern DRC operations. South Africa currently has a mission deployed in the region as well, although no nationals have been reported being hurt in the attack.

[New Zealand to review its macho rugby culture](http://email.touchbasepro.com/t/d-l-dttykdd-l-f/)

New Zealand Rugby has announced a major panel will investigate sexism in its ranks. NZR has had to discipline numerous players for demeaning behaviour towards women in 2016. This included a teenage star who assaulted four people, including two women, in an unprovoked attack. All is not well for the Kiwis, apparently.
